Kayla is a 6th generation Floridian from Sarasota, FL.  She is married to her husband, Logan, of 8 years with 2 girls, McKinley (7) and Saylor (5).  Logan is a 4th generation Dairy Farmer in Hardee County, FL.

Kayla attended the University of Florida and obtained her bachelors degree in Food and Resource Economics.  While in college, she interned with the USDA - NRCS as a Soil Conservationist in Suwannee, Okeechobee and Alachua Counties.  Upon graduation, she served as the Soil Conservationist in Highlands County, then promoted to serve Charlotte, Lee, Sarasota and Manatee Counties as the Soil Conservationist in the Manasota Field Office. 

In 2014, Kayla took a position with the Florida Department of Agriculture - Office of Agricultural Water Policy (FDACS-OAWP) to aide in the implementation of the Best Management Practices Program.  She oversaw statewide contracts for the Citrus Grove Renovation/Re-establishment Support Programs and assisted in Regional Water Public/Private Partnerships.  After the birth of her 2nd child, Kayla left her full time position with OAWP to work for her husband's family dairy farm as an Administrative Assistant.  She now works for the HSWCD, on contract with the FDACS-OAWP. 

Kayla has served on the boards of the Florida CattleWomen, Avon Park Jaycees and the Highlands County Young Farmers and Ranchers. 

Kayla and her family enjoy spending time on the family farm and outdoor activites throughout the state.
